Getting Gold for Mercy Healthcare

Mercy Healthcare was having a problem with morale and rentention.

While they battled internally to create new systems and managerial processes, they also needed greater alignment to inspire people to visit Mercy for all their medical needs.

My team and I responded by conceptualizing and creating a fresh campaign that would live up to the spirit of the hospital’s founding nuns. In fact, we even called it “LiveUp.”

Specifically, we created assets that would encourage people to go beyond their job descriptions to serve patients and colleagues in ways that were memorable and enriching.

These assets included commercials, posters, outdoor, a bold new anthem and many more.

For our efforts, the LiveUp marketing campaign was named a Gold Winner at the healthcare advertising awards in 2015 and the campaign won an Upper Midwest Regional Emmy award in 2015.

Samples below include: service-line commercials, posters and billboards.

This playful commercial helped launch the campaign and advertise orthopedics.

I wrote this anthem to not only inspire employees, but to embody the sentiment of service excellence inherit in the brand. It quickly became so popular that it was turned into a poster and hung around the hospital for all patients to see.
